Shelley started at Elliott Associates on January 1, 1996 as the Corporate Controller. It was a very different company back then. The property accounting was done on proprietary software designed internally by an employee that was sophisticated but not keeping up with the rapid growth of the company. Since that time, EA has implemented many software programs to make it one of the most technologically forward thinking property management companies in Portland.

Her duties include financial analysis and interpretation, review of property budgets and financial statements, strategic direction and goals for accounting department, and accounting software. She also supervises professional and administrative staff. Shelley is one of the top leaders at EA and is well respected and admired for her ability to pull together highly organized and functioning teams.

Her prior position was with a small start-up company named Tazo LLC, the same Tazo Tea that Starbucks bought back in the mid 1990s. It was then she decided to return to her first love: real estate. Before moving back to Oregon in 1992, she worked as the corporate controller for The Alexander Haagen Company in Manhattan Beach, California. At that time, The Alexander Haagen Company was the second largest developer and manager of shopping centers in Southern California. She managed an accounting department of over 20 people and provided financial analysis and review for all levels of management.

Shelley attended California Sate University in Northridge, California, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting Theory and Practice. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1989 and is a licensed Oregon and California real estate broker, and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).

Shelley is happily married to Vince and lives in SW Portland, Oregon. They enjoy traveling.
