The Elliotts are equal partners in every aspect of their lives, whether it be in marriage, parenting, real estate, business partnerships, and in this case: 50-50 ownership of Elliott Associates.
Lou concentrates on the external part of the business: client services, asset management, brokerage, etc., and Moe focuses on the internal aspects: corporate services, human capital, productivity, and training. Their expertise continues to be honed by studying the behavior of their organization, pursuing great accomplishments through small groups, and hiring and supporting hundreds of employees who require training and mentoring.
Elliott Associates has been a part of Moe's life since its first days in 1977. Before and during the growth of EA, she held many positions that made her who she is today: Peace Corps volunteer (Brazil), life-long student of psychology and sociology; restaurant sous chef and owner; a psych intern in hospital psychiatric wards and as a middle school teachers' aide; a real estate broker; a bartender and jazz club owner who booked the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Earl Hines, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck, and the early days of Portland local Nancy King; a vocational rehab intern in programs for the learning disabled; grant writer, fund raiser and builder of mud brick schools in remote regions of coastal Brazil; and a county, state, and federal government employee until it was far too apparent that she was excessively entrepreneurial for any type of steady government work, however service oriented.
Moe is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a friend, and a person who is always committed to maintaining the ties of family and friendship, extending to the way she has fashioned her business relationships through Elliott Associates.
She graduated from San Diego State University in California, with a degree in Sociology/Psychology and she has taken many post-graduate classes in social work, psychology, industrial and organizational behavior and theory, gardening, cooking and the art of food, and needlework.
Moe is a past board member for the Saturday Market (Eugene), and is a past Trustee on the boards of the French American International School and the Women's Care Foundation. She is an Oregon Real Estate Broker and is proud to have walked the Portland Marathon, promising to train for marathons in the future.
Current business affiliations include the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
She lives with Lou (together for 39 years) in Vancouver, WA, has three fabulous children, a huge extended family, dogs, cats, and many loving and dependable friends.
