Acorns Gather Canned Food to Fight Hunger

December, 2009 -  Each year Elliott Associates chooses a charity to donate goods and monetary contributions to for the holidays.  This year, EAI was happy to coordinate a canned food and fund drive for the Oregon Food Bank to help fight hunger within our own community.
With the troubled economy, the distribution of emergency food boxes in Oregon skyrocketed last year to historic highs, increasing more than 14 percent.  Half of those families that received food last year were those with children.
EAI acorns collected a total of approximately 300 pounds of canned goods and raised nearly 500 dollars in cash donations during the month of December.  (A $10 donation will help the Oregon Food Bank distribute enough food for 30 meals.)
Though times were hard for many this year, this is our way at EAI to say thank you to all those who were so generous to us throughout the year.  Happy New Year!
